A spiral love story. Kouno Jun is a lively character who lives life with all his might. Rudo and his foster father Legto try to live in the wealthy town's slums with the rest of the people, but Rudo doesn't like how wasteful the upper class is. Rudo regularly rummages through the town's trash in search of anything useful or valuable to save from the "Abyss," a huge hole where anything considered trash, including people, is dumped. He ignores the warnings from those around him. One of these people was Rudo's biological father, who was thrown into the Abyss after being accused of murder. Rudo comes back one day to find Legto's dying body on the floor after running into an enigmatic person on the way home. The authorities immediately locate him at the scene and file a murder charge against him. He is thrown into the Abyss after his claims of innocence are rejected by everyone. However, he finds himself in a strange, foul-smelling location surrounded by trash monsters instead of dying. Rudo is saved from the aforementioned monsters by a man named Engine, who reveals himself to be a "janitor" who uses "jinkis," or special weapons, to fight these creatures. Rudo reluctantly takes on the role of janitor in order to fight his way back up and out of the Abyss in order to exact his vengeance on the person who killed Legto.

Her friend Hotaru is one of these, and after a chance encounter with a teacher, Mikan suddenly finds herself enrolled. Finally, the two friends are reunited, but is Mikan actually one of those so-called Alices?
